Which concert did you attend?: | Emerald 2018 |
How many CWS concerts have you attended?: | Three or more |
Which was your favourite piece on this program?: | Angel of Mercy by David Maslanka |
Why did you like that piece? : | It was uplifting and easy to listen to. It was also within my realm of ‘Music” and was presented in a way that left me feeling that I had thoroughly enjoyed the listening experience. |
Were there any other pieces that came a close second?: | 2.And the Angels Called by sweringen which took my mind off in many directions as well as being entertaining and, 3.Exultate by Hazo. Again a sense of movement and felling was presented providing an experience that was enjoyable. |
What would you say to someone thinking about coming to CWS for the first time?: | The musicians in the CWS are brilliant!! So too is their entertaining Director. Apart from the RMC Duntroon Army Band, I have never heard music played with such excellence in Canberra by a Canberra group of Musicians. The program variety is extensive and whilst not all pieces are uplifting and easy to listen too, most are. Don’t be surprised if you have to listen to music that you are unfamiliar with and which may not be pleasing to your sense of “Music”; it will none the less be played brilliantly and will evoke a reaction. I thoroughly enjoy the concerts and look forward to all coming events. |
